Quando escuto sons de reforma – a música do tempo – martelos batendo pelas paredes, serras moldando vigas feito papel, esmeril polindo-sei-lá-eu-o-quê, aos gritos, aos berros, guturais, amorfos, caóticos, entregues, insuficientes – sempre me (te) pergunto: é som de construção ou de demolição? – Talvez os dois. Certamente os dois. Quiçá nenhum – certamente os dois. Talvez os dois. Quiçá nenhum. Mas em vias da temporalidade, cada baque no martelo arruína uma ordem anterior, mesmo que desta ordem ultrapassada tenha partido todo o movimento. Esta construção nasce fadada às próprias ruínas (eu nasci fadado à própria ruína) que no final, acaba sendo o que de essencial perdura. Todo o resto, intermitência, erosão e herança que se esgota tão logo se posterga. No fundo, o martelo bate em nós - nós somos as paredes, nós somos as vigas de carne, nós somos o ruído feito grito que busca o sentido que nos preencha, nós somos o oco. A construção ou a demolição do sentido? – Certamente os dois. Talvez os dois. Quiçá nenhum – talvez os dois. Certamente os dois. Quiçá nenhum.
A arte não tem por objeto os devaneios, nem as construções mas ela tão pouco tem por objeto a verdade.

During his childhood, Maco Maltauro carried a jukebox in a suitcase everywhere. In his youth he used to play sounds on the class break after recording radio music onto tapes and creating his first playlists. Even with the CD's arrival, he never abandoned the LPs, which collects until now. It didn't take long for Maco to become a DJ. His career really took off around 2013, already completely enraptured by music at which point his hobby transformed into a profession and way of life.
In 2014 he played at Voodoohop's festival and had experienced other DJs playing alternative and Downtempo musics, then going to play at various locations, from LGBT nightclubs to online radio stations. Later, in 2015, along with a group, he turned himself toward the inhabitants of his town and started to occupy public spaces in order to lead multicultural events - at that time, followed by the example of an engaging cultural underground scene in Sao Paulo.
Standing out with a reverberating and nutty “brazility”, specifically never stuck to any style. During his formative years as a DJ, he fell for the hypnotic grooves of disco, feeding his soul through electro, soul and funk rhythms. The groovy element of all those genres continues to permeate into the music he plays and makes today. Throughout the entire process, an interest in producing blossomed through his spirit and from 2017 to here he has been studying electronic music production on his own and getting tips from friends and the internet. Now, we present with great appreciation his first totally authorial work - Imanifesto EP.
No wonder that the groove takes the lead in this work; heavy bass lines surrounded by electronic distortion instead of being a supporting factor is the EP's flagship. It aims at entering the people's trance and questioning who is dancing/listening in order to bring philosophy to the dance floor. Possibilities and paths of expression, working to draw the listener in.
Through its perspective the EP provides insights with the Brazilian voices; the masculine voice brings the crisis, the deconstruction, asks only the question, provokes and withdraws as soon as it accuses the ear-dancing. In this sense it is more aggressive because it runs and dissolves the inertia of the body-draft. The feminine voice comes, in turn, to welcome this crisis and engender directions. It is assertive: when it arises, it is imperative and golden, nurturing hope under the rupture posed by the dilemma.
Language, subject, and meaning are not eternal: they are inevitably embedded in a horizon of interpretation. It is like a song that only comes into being the moment it is played. The language that reveals the subject only makes sense when it manifests itself and reaches the interlocutor - as soon as it presents itself, as soon as it says, it already becomes outdated and therefore requires constant updating.
The "Imanifesto EP" poses a problem: if the language, the subject and the sense can say nothing to the interlocutor - after all, to say is already past - what is danced, given that music is language too? Who is dancing? What do you dance to? There is an abyss on those tracks, and this EP becomes a vain attempt to bring it up by the word-that-dance.
